El Corte Ingles is a large department store in Las Palmas. It has several floors in 2 buildings situated opposite each other in Avenida Mesa y Lopez.
There are concessions in each department of designer brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Lacoste, Pepe Jeans and also makeup, perfume and jewellery.
The electronics department features a mobile phone department and it’s own Apple Store concession.
The toy department has all the latest toys and games including Barbie Collector dolls, Lego and Video Consoles such as XBOX and Playstation 3.
El Corte Ingles has it’s own restaurant on the top floor, which does a menu del dia for around 11€, a coffee shop and also a supermarket ‘Hipercor’.
El Corte Ingles Discount Shops
There is a sales department in the main department store, with discounted items, but there are also 2 separate ‘El Corte Ingles Oportunidades’ shops. One in Aringa and the other more recent shop in C.C Las Terrazas.
In both stores there are designer items with slashed prices, from previous seasons. There are often some great deals to be found with dresses for 9€, shoes for 3€ and often expensive items like Ralph Lauren knitwear, greatly reduced. It’s a great shop to check out if you like searching for a bargain.
The main department store can be very popular due to their El Corte Ingles store card, so you can finance your purchases and pay monthly for more extravagant things, such as televisions, computers, holidays (from El Corte Ingles own travel agency).
